Top 6 Fitness Podcasts You Need to Listen To
With YouTube, Instagram, and Spotify, it’s easier than ever to find useful health and fitness info. Back in the day, if you wanted to learn how to work out, you had to just spy on the jacked guys at your gym. While there is nothing wrong with soliciting “jailhouse” gym advice, there is something to be said for listening to true health and fitness experts. These people need not be egg-shaped academics. Real world-experience and finding someone who is personally in great shape to give you the best fitness advice via a platform like fitness podcasts are important, but you also want someone who has done the research—it’s the best of both worlds.
This is where fitness-focused podcasts come in. Several podcasts (available mainly on YouTube, but also in helpful snippets on Instagram) have emerged over the past as standouts in an otherwise crowded marketplace.
My top-6 favorite fitness podcasts are:
While this list is by no means comprehensive, all six of these fitness podcasts have the perfect blend of practicality and science. Whether you are looking for diet advice or more effective ways to build your triceps, these podcasts got you covered.
1. Mindpump
Mindpump is like the Howard Stern of fitness podcasts. This free-wheeling show brings together friends Sal DiStefano, Adam Shafer, and Justin Andrews for an almost daily conversation about a variety of interesting fitness topics. In spite of the casual way in which these guys seem to approach the podcast, they actually really know what they are doing/talking about. If you are looking for an entertaining way to get useful fitness advice, look no further than the Mindpump podcast. Keep in mind. This podcast is also especially good if you prefer casual, freeform conversations as opposed to more structured, interview-style ones.

The ONLY Way You Should Be Doing Dumbbell Bicep Curls
Learning how to Dumbbell Bicep Curls is important if you want to build muscular, boulder-like arms. The problem is that because dumbbell bicep curls are such a classic exercise, many gym-goers seem to assume that they automatically know how to do them. This video explains some of the bicep-curl mistakes that you may be making and gives you solutions for building bigger, stronger biceps.
The ONLY Forearm Workout That Matters
This video goes into detail on one of the most often-ignored upper body muscles: The forearms. Your forearms are not only an incredibly important aesthetic muscle (which makes the fact that they are often ignored surprisingly). They are also very important for overall upper-body muscle strength. Why? Because your forearm muscles play a role in your grip strength and your grip matters for literally every single upper body exercise. So, watch this video, and don’t forget about forearms!
How to Incline Dumbbell Press
This video gives some simple instructions on the proper form for the incline dumbbell press. Incline press is one of the most important overall exercises for building strong, well-shaped pecs. When people think pec workouts, they usually jump immediately to a standard flat bench press and, while standard benching is excellent, if you want truly toned pecs, you can’t skimp on the incline.
2. WHOOP
Creator of the WHOOP’s Will Ahmed has his own fitness podcast that relies mostly on incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable guests. Doctors, professional body-builders, and more. If he or she is a big name in the fitness community, there’s a good chance they have appeared on the WHOOP podcast. I also have my own opinion on the WHOOP device and its functionality vs. the Apple Watch.

3. Ben Greenfield
Ben Greenfield is one of the fitness communities more interesting characters. He is, to say the least, extreme. Here’s a quick test: Do you like David Goggins? If yes, you will like Ben Greenfield.
Greenfield talks a lot about diet but also has some stellar weight room advice for building bigger, stronger muscles. Moreover, Greenfield is all about functional fitness and has very little interest in helping people build oversized muscles that are purely aesthetic. And by “oversized,” I mean not have the flexibility to even touch the top of your head because of your biceps.
